ITIL Foundation Exam Style

Hi! First, great site! Thanks so much for this amazing resource. I am currently studying for my ITIL® Foundation exam through The Knowledge Academy. Googling around for some practice exams, I noticed most are like the sample provided by Axelos, which in turn is in line with the samples provided by TKA as well.

However, I found this one outlier: http://itservicetoday.blogs.com/itil_foundation_exam/files/free_itil_foundation_exam_questions.pdf

The questions on this sample are quite different; much more situational.

I’m assuming the actual exam is much more in line with the Axelos example and the TKA practice exams (which are very similar to the Axelos example) but wondering if you can comment on the style?

For now, I’m assuming the link above isn’t in line with the actual exam.

Hi Wyane,

Thanks for your sharing. For my ITIL® Foundation Level Exam, the questions are quite similar to that provided by Axelos (which is the company behind the ITIL® Exam). I did not even encounter any situational questions on my ITIL® Foundation Exam paper.

I am sure the outlier you have found belongs to the more advanced ITIL® level exams (e.g. ITIL® intermediate, etc.). The advanced ITIL® exams requires you to have hands-on experience in implementing ITIL® in organizations and thus the situational questions are more suitable.

But for the ITIL® Foundation Level Exam, aspirants are to be tested on their awareness and understanding of ITIL® principles and terminologies. I think situational questions are not likely.

Wish you ITIL® success!
