PMP Application Form: is similar project description for different projects an issue?

Hi Sir,

I am working as a design engineer with more than 4 years of professional experience (in the same company) and right now in course of completing my application for PMP. The problem i’m facing here is that, for all the 5 projects that I have mentioned in my application, the job description that is being entered remains almost the same. This is because, I have been working under the same firm and all the 5 projects were kind of similar. Is this a problem? I can send pdf of my application for your review (if you don’t mind).

It is not a problem if the project descriptions look very similar in structure, etc.
 
However, since every project is “a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product or service”.
 
Each project must be unique in its environment, requirements and deliverables, etc. You will have to emphasis these attributes in your project descriptions in order to be able to present to PMI that you understand what a project is and your experience is about project and not operation.
 
In short, it is okay to have similar projects, but it is the differences that really matters.
