Will PMI email my references during application review?

I am a certified PMP. I submitted my application for PMI-ACP® yesterday and right now my application is under review by PMI. Should I anticipate PMI to call up / email my reference to validate my experience and education at this time and will it be done only if my application is selected for an audit ?

No. PMI seldom emails (and even phones) your references directly.

In the application completeness review, PMI will only go through what you have written on the application form to check for completeness (i.e. whether you have included all the necessary information according to PMI’s standard). They may ask you to submit additional information if deemed necessary. Otherwise, you will just have to wait several days to get the email asking you to pay for the exam fee.

It is only after you have settled the exam fee then you will know whether you are selected for an audit. And even in case of an audit, you will have to contact your references yourself for certificates and signed experience verification forms.
