Can PMP working experience include ongoing projects?

I am preparing for PMP exam. Now in the process of filling up Application and preparation of projects details for the past three years. I would like to get your advise how to go about these preparation and get passed in the first attempt.

Can I submit project still not yet completed. I means three of projects are still on development. The estimated hours may increase due to further scope changes as and when needed.

Your help is highly appreciated. Same like you, I am also a full time project leaders coping with all kinds daily activities / meetings in the job and week end family activities. Please advise.

Definitely! The estimated total hours for the project is not important to your PMP application as you just need to enter the hours you have already spent on managing and directing the projects. But remember you will need to have experience in the 5 project process groups of Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, and Closing. As the 3 projects are still ongoing, there may not have any experience in Closing. You will need to included another completed project so that you can present your full experience in the project process groups.

Wish you PMP success!
