Once my PMP application is approved, when do I have to pay for the exam?

Can I pay for it closer to when I want to take it (i.e. in another month)? I have received approval from my company to pay for my PMP certification and I want to be sure I spend the approved budget in the approved month.

Hi Evan,
 
Thanks for your question. Once your PMP is received and processed for completeness, you will be asked to pay for the PMP Exam fee before you are allowed to schedule your exam. More importantly, you will know whether you are required a PMI audit only after you have paid the PMP Exam fee (i.e. your PMP application is only approved after you have settled the exam fee).
 
Therefore, it is highly advisable to pay the PMP Exam fee as soon as possible.
