These are the resources that help you to know what the PMP® Certification is and the application process involved. Since the rules set out by PMI must be strictly observed while applying and sitting for the PMP® exam, the following is a list of must-read resources for every PMP® aspirants:

  • PMI PMP® Handbook
This is the official PMP® Exam application guide published by the publisher of PMP® Exam. Every PMP® aspirant should study this guide thoroughly to understand the ins and outs of the PMP® Certification and how to get PMP® certified. Ideally speaking, it covers everything every PMP® aspirant would need to know in order to apply and sit for the PMP® exam and maintain the PMP® credential after getting certified (i.e. PDU). It is available for free on the PMI website.
  • The Definitive PMP® Certification and Study Guide
As the PMI PMP® Handbook is written in official language, newcomers for the PMP® certification would find it a hard time to comprehend the official guide, let alone have their own queries answered. “The Definitive PMP® Certification and Study Guide” is an attempt by me to “decode” the official PMP® guide into “plain everyday English”. The whole PMP® certification journey is decomposed into 10 easy-to-follow steps. An infographic is included to further explain the PMP® Certification Process. It also provides the top FAQ of the PMP® Certification, i.e. PMP® Certification cost. This guide also includes lots of questions raised by fellow PMP® aspirants collected throughout the lifetime of the guide and you may be able to find answers to your pressing PMP® application questions.
  • Demystifying the PMP® Exam
This book is published by PM Campus (a PMP® Exam Prep Course provider). It costs US$17.99 for paperback and US$6.99 for Kindle version. Yet, as a reader of my blog, you can get a copy for free by simply scrolling down this page to the bottom and register to receive a complimentary Kindle e-book. The 340-page PMP® book contains sections like: Study Strategy and Memorization tips, Images & Task Lists and Sample Exam Questions, etc. The book has a unique section on what to study during the last week before the PMP® exam. A good PMP® reference book at no cost.
[Caveat: beware that you may receive quite a few promotional emails by PM Campus on its course offerings after registration.]
[Sorry, the book has been discontinued by PM Campus]
